Fans of LEGO’s longstanding seasonal sets have something to look forward to this February just in time for Easter. The LEGO Bird’s Nest (40639) has been added to LEGO.com and will be available to LEGO fans starting February 1st.
Joining this year’s LEGO Year of the Rabbit (40575), the LEGO Bird’s Nest features an animal-themed build coming in 232 pieces. The latter will also be released alongside two new LEGO Botanical Collection sets by next month. Check out its official product description below and images. 232 pieces | $12.99 | Coming soon on February 1, 2023
Appeal to builders aged 9 and up with a fun gift to have in time for both spring and Easter – the LEGO® Bird’s Nest (40639) kit. The set has 232 pieces and features a nest with a flowering branch and space for a mama bird, 2 chicks and 3 Easter eggs. The birds and eggs can be removed, and all 3 birds have movable wings, making this a fun set for kids to display in different ways. Kids can also rearrange the flowers on the nest and branch as they celebrate the Easter holiday and spring itself!
In case you missed it, LEGO Japan’s Social Media Twitter account shared a better, clearer image of 2023’s LEGO Year of the Rabbit (40575) seasonal set. We first caught wind of this annual set early in September, and this time around, it’s nice to have a closer look.
Coming in at 193 pieces, the LEGO Year of the Rabbit (40575) celebrates 2023 as the Year of the Water Rabbit according to the Chinese zodiac calendar. The set features a black and white brick-built bunny with poseable ears and movable, expressive eyes. It also comes with a unique 1×2 printed tile to mark the occasion.
The Twitter post goes to show that LEGO fans can get this freebie upon single-receipt LEGO purchases equal to, or greater than 9,900 Japanese Yen or roughly $75 USD at any LEGO store until supplies last. I’m not quite sure if this promotional is already live in the US, but since we only have a few days to go before 2023 kicks in, then it’s a possibility that LEGO may offer this set as a freebie to sweeten the deal with its January 2023 sets.
Be sure to stay tuned for more updates on this set if you have this under your LEGO must-haves radar.
It looks like LEGO VIP members can expect another gift-with-purchase (GWP) polybag anytime soon. To add more brick-building fun to next year’s Chinese Lunar New Year festivities, LEGO will be offering the promotional LEGO Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack (40605).
What to Expect from the LEGO Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack (40605)
There’s no official announcement from LEGO.com yet as of this posting, but this promotional polybag was eventually confirmed thru LEGO’s Customer Service if you search for the building instructions for set 40602. Additionally, we can catch a glimpse of this polybag freebie if you search within LEGO’s Certification Page and search for item number 6428025.
Though the image for the LEGO Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack shown on the certification document is less than ideal, we can somehow surmise what this polybag has to offer. It features a great selection of seasonal LEGO pieces offered in variant colors such as recolored lantern pieces, minifigures accessories, and even a rabbit figure keeping in line with 2023 as being the Year of the Water Rabbit.
We might hear from LEGO anytime soon regarding the mechanics of how to avail of this promotional offering, especially since January 1st is just around the corner and there are plenty of LEGO 2023 sets that we can look forward to. We can certainly expect LEGO to provide additional incentives to VIP members and add more value to our future purchases to kickstart 2023.
I’ll update this post once new information comes in so stay tuned. Special Thanks to Brick Fanatics for the heads-up.
We’re just counting the days before the first wave of LEGO 2023 sets is out. And in case you haven’t finalized your LEGO 2023 wishlist, then you may want to hear what the LEGO fan community has to say. Because thanks to Brickset’s one of many interesting features, you can somehow gauge the sentiment of other equally excited LEGO fan builders and get to see what are the most wanted LEGO sets of 2023 according to Brickset members.
If you wish to know what sets to prioritize this January, then read on and take a look at the top 15 most wanted LEGO sets for 2023. Bear in mind that this is the most accurate data as of this posting, and there will be slight changes as we wrap up this year. However, I believe that these changes may not be that significant to change the ranking of these sets.
Check out these most popular LEGO 2023 sets starting at 1st place and in descending order of likes or being the most wanted.
Frankly speaking, this is a cool mix of sets that shows how diverse the interests of our LEGO fan community are. Love them or hate them (I know most of us find it difficult to appreciate that Morbius film, but hey, we still get to see our first minifigure of our vampire superhero probably because of that), these sets are quite attractive not just because of the themes that they represent but also the new parts and elements that they introduce. This is particularly true, especially in the case of LEGO City sets 60384 and 60394 where we get to see a new minifigure costume and otter element. Additionally, in the case of licensed LEGO themes such as Star Wars, LSW fans are certainly hyped for the much-awaited 501st Clone Trooper minifigures (75345) and a new and aptly sized TIE Bomber (75347).
And since a large chunk of LEGO’s market is geared towards the AFOL community, it is somewhat expected to see the first modular set of 2023 make it at the top of this list. The LEGO Icons Jazz Club (10312) is the king of the hill for the majority of Brickset members even if it means shelling out $230 for this 2,800-piece set.
In the final analysis, consider this list as a guide to knowing what is hot and not for 2023 among LEGO fans. But in the end, you decide on which among these most wanted LEGO sets will it to your final “add-to-cart” list. So what do you think? Are there other LEGO 2023 sets that you want to see in this top 15 list? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

It’s nice that LEGO seasonal sets have always been around to jumpstart the season and get into that brick-building vibe. And with the release of the LEGO Halloween Cat and Mouse (40570) set a couple of months ago, it’s time to look back at some of the spooky-fun LEGO sets that we had over the years. From classic favorites, vignette-inspired builds, and large collectible themes and sets, these must-have LEGO sets are all head-turners in themselves.
In case you missed them, I’ve included Amazon affiliate links for these sets if you wish to add them to your collection. Any purchases made via these links will surely help to keep our site up and running.
With that out of the way, let’s jump right in and take a look.
Halloween is just around the corner! And if you’re still figuring out how to come up with those LEGO-themed spooky decors, then why not come up with the best Halloween-themed LEGO minifigure costume party instead?
Over the years, we’ve seen some of the craziest and most endearing LEGO minifigures around. From Disney characters to Harry Potter mainstays, LEGO simply doesn’t run out of ideas. But I have to say that for the best part of their minifigs, the costumed LEGO Collectible Minifigures are still the loveliest of the bunch in my opinion.
In the spirit of this wickedly fun season, let’s take a look at some of the best Halloween-themed LEGO Collectible Minifigures around. Arguably, there are plenty of CMF characters that LEGO came out with that added some spooky fun during this time of the year – just consider the LEGO CMF Series 14 Monsters (71010) for example. But still, there are those that stand out and are indeed worth mentioning.
Here’s a rundown of my personal favorites in no particular order. And in case you’re interested, you may find these minifigs for sale over at our official storefront – The Brick Show Shop. We’re currently running a Buy One Get One (BOGO) promo where you can get your second minifigure at 50% off. It’s certainly a great way to gather those collectible minifigures that you are raring to have. Just click on these links and see more details about these LEGO collectibles.

Speaking of LEGO GWPs, here’s another one coming up next for big buyers this October 2022. The more recent gifts currently available come from a variety of LEGO themes. Our next expected GWP for mid-October is no different. Speaking of variety, this one will provide plenty all its own, considering it’s a LEGO Creator 3-in-1. And the timing can be no more appropriate too when we consider the subject of this set. With Halloween coming at month’s end LEGO is offering us this. It even has an age recommendation right for the occasion’s primary demographic.
Courtesy of The Brick Fan, we have this scoop on the LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Mystic Witch (40562). As expected, this upcoming GWP set lets builders create an iconic Halloween witch. We’re talking conical hat, broomstick, green skin, the works. You’ll even be forgiven if you can’t decide whether her mouth piece is a smile or a big protruding tooth. And being a 3-in-1 set, Mystic Witch can be rebuilt into two other alternate forms. She can become her own familiar black (well, purple) cat or a cute little dragon. Just like a stereotypical witch to be able to magically shapeshift. It doesn’t get more Halloween-y.
LEGO Creator 3-in-1 GWP Mystic Witch (40562)
LEGO collectors can have the GWP Creator Mystic Witch (40562) for a minimum total purchase of $100. The corresponding gift period begins this coming Friday, October 14, and will run all the way to Halloween itself. It just doesn’t get more spooky seasonal than this.
