LEGO Shop@Home Now Offers An Entire Box of LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71024)

LEGO’s online store has been busy updating its site with yet another item. After listing the LEGO CMF Series 19 (71025) which will be available starting September 1, LEGO seems to be introducing (hopefully) a way in which we can get a complete series of CMFs all throughout. A complete box of the LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 tagged with set number 66625, is now offered at LEGO Shop@Home containing 60 blind bags, retailing for $239.99 USD. This is a great opportunity for collectors to snag a complete set or two straight out of the box since you may recall that the Disney CMF Series 2’s box distribution guarantees 2 complete sets of the 18 LEGO Disney minifigure characters that go with it. I’m not quite sure if LEGO is just replenishing stocks or will it be offering complete CMF boxes moving forward. Or perhaps because of the rarity of the Huey, Dewey and Louie minifigs prompted LEGO to make this offer. Whatever is the case, we just have to wait and see. However, since LEGO makes it clear that this complete box set is for a limited time only, then we can expect that this particular offer might end soon.

LEGO Disney Train and Station (71044) Revealed!

LEGO has just revealed its next direct-to-consumer (D2C) set that will surely win the hearts of Disney Park fans. Coming in at 2,925 pieces, the LEGO Disney Train and Station (71044) building set is not just aesthetically pleasing to look at, but also includes a Powered Up Hub and Motor which can be controlled remotely using a smart device. This set will retail for $329.99 USD and will be available to LEGO VIP members beginning August 21, with a general public release on September 1st. This is the next large Disney set that LEGO has offered following the release of the humongous LEGO Disney Castle (71040) back in 2016. In case you’ve noticed, the LEGO Disney Train and Station also gives us our first proper Goofy minifigure. We first saw him given the LEGO treatment in the Mickey and Friends Beach House (10827) Duplo set, but it does not kind of fit the common minifig category. Thankfully, we finally have an official LEGO minifigure version of him. I just wished that LEGO has thrown in a Pluto minifig as well.

Read on for the LEGO Disney Train and Station’s full product description and official images.

LEGO Officially Reveals the LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71024)

Well, this really made my day. In its official Facebook page, LEGO greeted us with a very welcome surprise, and officially announcing its next wave of collectible minifigures. It has been teased since early this January with the release of the 2019 LEGO Catalog, particularly along side with the LEGO Movie 2 CMF. The LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71024) consists of 18 minifigures, featuring timeless, classic characters and newer ones. LEGO’s selection for this wave doesn’t disappoint because some of these minifigure offerings complement the ones that were released before in LEGO Disney CMF Series 1 (71012) – such as Princess Jasmin and Jaafar; and Edna Mode and Frozone. I am personally looking forward for the Ducktales and the Nightmare Before Christmas minifigs.

LEGO Toy Story 4 Set Rumors and News From the Leaky Faucet

Disney dropped another bomb yesterday morning when it released the first trailer for the much-awaited 4th sequel to the Toy Story franchise. The teaser saw the return of the beloved toys that we know very well since we last saw them 8 years ago. We have Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang dancing around Judy Collins’ classic rendition of Both Sides Now. The last few seconds of the trailer really caught me off guard when an unexpected new character caused quite a stir. Referred to simply as Forky, the newest character was portrayed to be having a sort of identity crisis and is very much disturbed by the idea that he does not belong in Bonnie’s playroom. The rest of the story is obviously under wraps, save for the hint that Toy Story 4 will be a “road trip adventure” that will help Woody understand the larger world. With the Disney Pixar license under its belt, it’s also expected that LEGO has pretty much laid out the plans already for a series of LEGO Toy Story 4 tie-up sets as much as it did 8 years ago when it released its wave of related tie-in sets.

We also mentioned before that LEGO Toy Story 4 sets are bound to happen and it doesn’t come as a surprise knowing the partnership that LEGO and Disney have. We can also assume that these sets will carry the LEGO 4+ branding which will replace the LEGO Juniors line by next year. The last Disney Pixar tie-in sets that were given the LEGO Juniors tag as of to date were those that came from the Incredibles 2 subtheme. The only question now is how many tie-in sets will LEGO officially release in relation to the film. This year saw the release of three Incredibles 2 tie-in sets, with one LEGO BrickHeadz Mr. Incredible and Frozone (41613) added to the mix. With a good number of characters, including Forky, of course, we might be looking at a good deal of new LEGO Toy Story 4 sets soon. My personal bet is that other than the confused Forky, we might also see new characters rendered in LEGO bricks such as the animal plush toys that we see in the follow-up trailer below.

carnival scene

This being a road trip of a movie with perhaps a stopover at a local carnival, I will not be surprised to see if there is one dedicated LEGO set that shows how this carnival scene will play out.

Toy Story 4 is still roughly 6 months away before it hits theaters on June 21, 2019, and until then, we can be sure that LEGO will slowly reveal its LEGO Toy Story 4 sets beginning the first quarter of 2019. It should also be noted that LEGO in the past has also released four LEGO Duplo Toy Story sets in 2010: Jessie’s Round Up (5657), Pizza Planet Truck (5658), The Great Train Chase (5659), and Alien Space Crane (5691) so it’s not a long shot to consider that they might follow the same path again with Toy Story 4.
