LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and Ecto-2 (75828) Officially Revealed

It was roughly 4 days ago when he had our first glimpse of the LEGO Ghostbusters vehicles courtesy of just2good at Eurobricks, and this time, it seems that Amazon Japan has updated its LEGO database with the set’s official box art image. Take a look. The Amazon Japan listing further states that the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and Ecto-2 (75828) is scheduled to be released locally on July 22 – exactly a week after the movie’s 2016 femme fatale remake debuts in US theaters on July 15. The set is believed to have 556 pieces, together with all the modern Ghostbusters minifigures – all five of them – gathered in one set. With a great deal on the number of minifigs that come with the set, then a price point of $59.99 sounds reasonable.

For some of you who are not yet that familiar with this recent, all-female rendition of the most favorite ghost-busting team of all-time, this video might help you be grounded on how they look like.

The Force is set to meet LEGO bricks in a new galaxy-spanning adventure in LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures!

StarWars.com is thrilled to announce LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, an all-new animated television series scheduled to debut this summer on Disney XD in the US. The fun-filled adventure comedy series, set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi will introduce all-new heroes and villains in exciting adventures with many familiar Star Wars characters.

Told in the whimsically charged style that audiences have come to expect from LEGO Star Wars entertainment, the series stars the Freemakers, a family of scavengers who build and sell starships from the scoured debris of space battles strewn throughout the galaxy. When their youngest discovers a natural connection with the Force through an ancient artifact — the Kyber Saber — his world is turned upside down, and he and his family are thrown into an epic struggle against the Empire to restore peace and freedom to the galaxy. Throughout their adventures, the Freemakers explore new worlds, meet new and familiar characters, and learn the true value of what it means to be a family.

“We are very excited to launch for the first time a TV series with Disney XD,” said Jill Wilfert, vice president, of licensing & entertainment at the LEGO Group. “The creative team behind The Freemaker Adventures is extremely talented, and the series is a great testament to our longstanding and successful partnership with Lucasfilm and Disney. The show masterfully combines the rich heritage of storytelling, great characters, action, and adventure in a galaxy far, far away with the creativity, imagination, and humor that only LEGO Star Wars can deliver. We are sure fans young and old are going to love the show.”

“With The Freemaker Adventures we are thrilled to bring all-new stories to life that could only be realized in the LEGO Star Wars universe,” said Carrie Beck, vice president, of animation development at Lucasfilm. “We are embarking on an unprecedented collaboration that will allow us to extend the narrative experience of the Star Wars saga with the same playful spirit that’s always made LEGO Star Wars so much fun to watch. We are so thankful to have such great partners in the LEGO Group, Disney XD, and series developers Bill Motz and Bob Roth.”

LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures is a production of Wil Film, the LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm. Developed for television by Bill Motz and Bob Roth (Penguins of Madagascar), they join Torsten Jacobson (LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales) and Jill Wilfert (The LEGO Movie) as executive producers alongside producers Carrie Beck (Star Wars Rebels), Jason Cosler (LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Avengers Reassembled!), Jake Blais, and John McCormack.

These Might Be The Most Customized LEGO Minifigures Ever

Looking for a unique gift for the uber LEGO fan? Then these customized LEGO minifigures might just be what you’re looking for!

The cool thing about LEGO minifigures is that you can interchange and swap them with other minifig components. Consisted of a head-piece, the head itself, the upper torso, the lower torso, and one accessory, LEGO wants to stay true to its purpose of sparking creativity and variety even with its smallest of playthings while allowing more room for its fans to be creative. And what better way to express this creativity than through these highly customized LEGO minifigures?

These Amazing Customized LEGO Minifigures is the Perfect Keepsake

Chris Lightfoot of Lincoln, England decided to push the limits of LEGO minifig customization to a whole new level with his unique, customized LEGO minifigures. During the day, he is a 3D printing specialist who develops artificial bones for the medical industry and models for architectural firms. Being a LEGO fan himself, he founded his online hobby store Funky 3D Faces.

Lightfoot comments, “Although we do enjoy making bones and buildings we wanted to use the technology we had to make something fun and affordable to the masses.” For just less than US$30, you can have a funky, customized look of ‘your little monster’ and turn him into a little hero.

Here’s How to Get Your Own Customized LEGO Minifigures

According to their website, you just need to send along two clear photographs, one of the side of your head and one taken face-on. Funky 3D Faces then converts those photos into an “eerily lifelike” 3D head, as described by CNET reporter Amanda Kooser.

The process behind the creation of these 3D-printed, customized LEGO minifigures is equally impressive as the outcome itself. “We convert 2 photographs into 3D – then using sophisticated full-color 3D printers, we create eerily life-like 15mm high heads,” Chris explains.

The head-making process even includes your choice of hairstyle and color. The heads are sized to be more or less 15 millimeters. It has a sandstone finish with a hole in the neck that perfectly fits on any Lego minifigure. “This means you can turn yourself into whatever Lego character you want, whether it’s a Stormtrooper or one of the Ghostbusters”, adds Kooser.

Tiny as it seems, the production of this 3D figure is somehow lengthy and usually takes up to two weeks. So plan accordingly if you need it for a special occasion or as a gift.
