A Sneak Peek at LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors Edition (76437)

Exclusive Reveal by LEGO House

In now a deleted post (but without the swift action of eagle-eyed LEGO HP fans), LEGO House’s Instagram account gave us a first glimpse of this year’s exclusive LEGO Harry Potter set.  They’re not only teasing the official release but also promoting an exciting event where fans can meet some of the masterminds behind the magic. On September 5, 2024, from 3-5 PM, you’ll have the chance to meet LEGO Harry Potter designers George Gilliatt, Santiago Carrillo, and Peter Kjærgaard for a special signing session. Imagine getting your own Burrow set signed by the creators themselves!

Anticipated Release Date: September 1, 2024

While the official announcement is still under wraps, the reveal from the LEGO House has stirred up some serious excitement. The buzz suggests that the LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors’ Edition (76437) is slated for a September 1, 2024 release (perhaps for LEGO Insiders members first). This would make it the perfect addition to your collection just in time for the back-to-school season—or perhaps, a magical start to the new Hogwarts term!

This Instagram post from the LEGO House is now been deleted. But thanks to quick and eagle-eyed fans, we now have our first look of this year’s LEGO Harry Potter D2C set.

The anticipation for this LEGO 18+ set gets even wilder considering that LEGO Australia has now officially revealed two promotional tie-in sets that may be connected to the LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors’ Edition (76437). Earlier, we had our first look at the Collectible Weasley Clock and the Borgin and Burkes Floo Network GWPs making the prospect of owning this latest D2C set even more rewarding.

An Accidental Early Look

In a twist that only the wizarding world could conjure, the official LEGO House Instagram post seems to have gone live a bit earlier than planned. Jay’s Brick Blog noted that the post, which included a picture of George Gilliatt holding the boxed set, was live around 9:45 AM BST but has since been taken down. However, the cat—or in this case, the magical set—is already out of the bag.

The LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors’ Edition: A Detailed Masterpiece

The image revealed by LEGO House gives us a tantalizing preview of what to expect from the LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors’ Edition. The set features an impressive 2,405 pieces, meticulously crafted to bring the Weasley’s whimsical home to life. Known for its charmingly crooked architecture and vibrant, cozy aesthetic, The Burrow is a beloved location from both the Harry Potter books and films, making this set a must-have for fans.

One of the standout features of the LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors’ Edition (76437) is the inclusion of 10 highly collectible minifigures. Fans will be thrilled to know that the set includes not just Harry Potter himself but also nearly the entire Weasley family.

The front of the box reveals minifigures of Ron, Fred, George, Arthur, Molly, Ginny, Percy, Bill, and even Charlie Weasley—who, interestingly, only appeared in the books and was absent from the films. This makes Charlie’s inclusion a rare and special treat, highlighting LEGO’s dedication to honoring the original source material.

A Nod to the Harry Potter Novels

LEGO has once again shown its commitment to the Harry Potter franchise by including details that are true to the books. Charlie Weasley’s minifigure is a clear indication that this set draws inspiration not only from the movies but also from J.K. Rowling’s literary world. This attention to detail ensures that the LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors’ Edition (76437) is not just a toy but a collector’s item that celebrates the magic of the entire Harry Potter universe.

Availability and Release Date of the LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors’ Edition

With the release date likely slated for September 1, 2024, fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on this spellbinding set. If history is any indication—considering past LEGO Harry Potter exclusives like the Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors’ Edition (76417) and Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition (76405) – this set is bound to be a huge hit. Whether you’re a dedicated LEGO collector, a Harry Potter superfan, or simply someone who appreciates a beautifully designed set, the LEGO Harry Potter The Burrow Collectors’ Edition (76437) is sure to cast a spell on you.

LEGO Super Mario Peach’s Castle (71395) Rumored to be the Next D2C Set

Word from brick street is that the highly successful LEGO Super Mario theme is getting its next direct-to-consumer (D2C) following the likes of the LEGO Super Mario Nintendo Entertainment System (71374). According to several reliable sources, we can expect the arrival of the LEGO Super Mario Peach’s Castle (71395) in the last quarter of this year, with speculations of its arrival reinforced by an unlikely source.

As noted by German LEGO fan site Stone Wars, the possibility of another castle-themed LEGO set is further hinted upon by a new LEGO piece that is made available via LEGO’s Replacement Parts services. Element 6152409 or a white version of the 1×2 White Masonry Brick (98283) has been listed on the said service.

The LEGO Replacement Parts Service lists element 6152409, a white variant of the masonry brick 98283.

Prior to this listing, however, there has been a rumor going around LEGO fan communities that a new LEGO Super Mario set is in the works, and it will feature another iconic castle from the Super Mario universe. But unlike other large sets under the theme such as the Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle (71369) set, this upcoming D2C set is not strictly a part of the theme’s expansion sets but more like the brick-built Nintendo Entertainment System (71374).  The discovery of the new 1×2 White Masonry brick gives further credence to the rumor of a Peach’s Castle set considering that the set follows a white and red color scheme made up mostly of masonry bricks. Though it’s not the actual set, a LEGO MOC created by Instagram user s.cossy might give us an idea of how this D2C set might turn out.

I know that this is speculative as of the moment, and details of this possible set are scant as of the moment. But what we do know as of this point is that the LEGO Super Mario Peach’s Castle (71395) is expected to retail for € 169.99 as per Price Vortex making it the 2nd most expensive set under the theme, just a notch lower than the LEGO Super Mario NES. We can also guess that it will most probably clock in at around 1,500 to 2,000 pieces given this price point.

Like any other rumors, it is wise to consider this with a grain of salt, and let’s just hope that LEGO will make an announcement any time soon.

ICYMI: LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discovery (10283) Landing this April

In case you missed it, the LEGO Group has officially announced another set that celebrates their creative collaboration with NASA. Unveiled earlier this week, the LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discovery (10283) celebrates the launch of the original NASA STS-31 together with the Hubble Space Telescope in 1990.

The commemoration of this historic event is now immortalized in LEGO form through the LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discvovery (10283) set, slated to arrive this April. And what better way to launch (no pun intended) this set is by having the first-ever American woman astronaut to have ever walked on space introduce this latest LEGO-NASA collab. Dr. Kathy Sullivan was even kind enough to even share some of her insights as a pioneering astronaut, and to encourage budding LEGO builders, engineers, and scientists to pursue a career in space exploration.

The LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discovery (10283) is an 18+ set coming in at 2,354 pieces. The set will be directly available in all LEGO brand stores and LEGO Shop@Home for $200 beginning April 1, 2021. Read more about LEGO’s official press release about this new offering, and likewise you may click on the following affiliate link below if you wish to add this to your LEGO wishlist. This latest LEGO 18+  will certainly look magnificent beside other NASA-inspired sets such as the LEGO Ideas International Space Station (21321) and the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (92176).

Are We Going to See a LEGO Marvel D2C Set Anytime Soon?

Now that the LEGO Group has somewhat permitted in principle, the online discussions of rumored or arriving LEGO sets, this has provided many LEGO fan sites some leeway to share their speculations. And one piece of news coming from the leaky faucet is the arrival of a LEGO Marvel D2C or direct-to-consumer set this May 2021.

The news came from reliable Instagram member exabrickslegogo when he shared over social media that a huge LEGO Marvel Daily Bugle D2C set may be in the works. The rumored set is said to retail for $300 and will not exactly be a tie-in for the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home film but will take its inspiration directly from its comics counterpart. It may also be related to Sony’s upcoming Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage film. In case you missed it, LEGO has also released a LEGO Carnage (76199) set as part of its more recent line of LEGO Helmet Collection.

If you’ve already seen the first Venom movie, you will recall that at the end of the film, it was hinted that Eddie Brock (played by Tom Hardy) will be shifting his career from creating investigative videos, to a more “old-school” journalistic approach. Since then it was hinted that the Daily Bugle might be making an appearance in Venom 2, and may eventually be a part of Venom’s cinematic universe. And this perfectly ties up with the comics as well considering how the Daily Bugle is central to the work of Eddie Brock as a freelance journalist. Again, these are just speculations at this point so you may want to take all of this with a grain of salt.

This year’s LEGO Marvel D2C set is rumored to be inspired by the Daily Bugle as depicted in Marvel comics.

Given this LEGO Marvel D2C set’s rumored price tag of $299, it will most probably earn its spot as the second priciest LEGO Marvel set following the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes The SHIELD Helicarrier (76042) released in 2015. And given that this set clocked in at almost 3,000 pieces, we can speculate that the LEGO Marvel Daily Bugle set will be around 2,000 to 2,500 pieces. This is a heck a lot bigger than what LEGO came up with back in 2013 when it offered a LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man: Daily Bugle Showdown (76005).

LEGO once released a LEGO Marvel set depicting the Daily Bugle.

And if indeed we are seeing a May 2021 release date, we can expect more news to come in about this next LEGO direct-to-consumer set anytime next month. In the meantime be sure to check with our blog site for future updates, and over at LEGO Shop@Home for the latest LEGO Marvel sets around.

This LEGO 1989 Batmobile (76139) Designer Video Reveals How Impressive This Set Actually Is

A few weeks ago, LEGO Batman fans were awe-struck with what could be the largest LEGO vehicle offered thus far. In their LEGO 1989 Batmobile (76139) designer video, self-confessed Tim Burton fans, and LEGO Designers Chris Perron and Adam Grabowski share their excitement on the creative process that they went through in coming up with this iconic version of the Batmobile.

https://youtu.be/AiN4NCV-gh4

The LEGO 1989 Batmobile (76139) is both impressive in its scale and the play features that go with it. Designers Chris and Adam also made sure that they stay faithful to the original 1989 depiction of the Dark Knight’s vehicle. The set features machine guns that pop up at the turn of the knob, and a slide-open cockpit that the designers managed to pull off even at a tilted angle. Speaking about the cockpit, the interior is simply loaded with fantastic details. LEGO Graphic Designer Ioana Popescu made sure that every detail counts in this legendary vehicle. I love how the steering wheel turned out in this set. The wheels in front are new wheel elements, while those at the back are taken from 2014’s LEGO DC Comics The Tumbler (76023). The set also comes with a rotating display stand that makes it an even more awesome display piece.

Since almost the entirety of the LEGO 1989 Batmobile (76139) is black, the designers were considerate to ensure that the inner workings of this set come in myriads of colors. This is extremely helpful in building such a large monochromatic set.

The choice of design for the set’s exclusive minifigures also takes their cue from Tim Burton’s vision of the Dark Knight. The LEGO 1989 Batmobile comes with three minifigures: a new version of Batman donned in a new soft plastic cowl as seen in the film; Vicki Vale with a mini brick-built camera, and of course Jack Nicholson’s rendition of The Joker. I guess for most LEGO Batman fans, the highlight of these exclusive minifigs will Batman himself, especially considering that classic cowl and cape that comes as a single piece. Having it as such and doing away with the usual swatch of cloth for Batman’s cape is clearly intentional on the part of the designers, to make it as close as to how Tim Burton’s idea of Batman is during this time. Though I’m still racking my brain on how battle-efficient Batman is in this costume when he is unable to turn his head when fighting the bad guys.  Well, that’s just my opinion.

The LEGO 1989 Batmobile (76139) comes in at 3,306 pieces and is now currently available at LEGO Shop@Home retailing for $249.99 USD.

For those who are in the know on the latest LEGO scoop, you might already be aware that this next D2C set is slated to be announced anytime soon. However, it looks like LEGO fans in Denmark, or more specifically for those who will be arriving or departing from Denmark’s Billund Airport, might catch a glimpse of the highly anticipated LEGO Batman 1989 Batmobile (76139). Instagram user Dylan Chow managed to obtain our very first in-store image of this direct-to-consumer set. Take a look.

Since this image was obtained from an actual LEGO set prominently displayed from a LEGO brand store, then sharing this with you is all fair game. Based on the images shared by Dylan, we can see that this set will weigh in at 3,306 pieces, with a height of 5.8 inches and a length of almost 2 feet. That is one head-turning, display-worthy D2C set if you ask me! It will make a cool LEGO display set alongside LEGO’s upcoming DC Collectible Minifigures (71026) series.

LEGO is staying true with the 80s vibe on this one with the inclusion of three minifigures together with this set: we have Vicki Vale played by actress Kim Basinger, Joker as brought to life by Jack Nicholson, and a radically different minifigure iteration of Batman (played by Michael Keaton in the film). What LEGO Batman fans will quickly notice is that this latest minifig version of the Dark Knight is significantly different in such a way that both his cowl and cape are made of a single piece of soft plastic. This is a clear departure from previous LEGO variants where LEGO opted to include a piece of fabric for its minifigure capes. I feel its a proper design choice for our latest LEGO Batman and gives these minifigures a more premium feel. I guess the set’s designers would like to stay true and consistent with the original designs of the 1989 film. This is one of the things that I truly love with LEGO – the extra mile that they go through to give us those subtle, but very important details.

The LEGO Batman 1989 Batmobile (76139) is expected to retail in the US somewhere between $249.99 to $299.99 USD given its size and piece count. We don’t have any info at this time regarding its exact release date, but considering how the set has officially appeared at this particular LEGO store may suggest that its official release will be anytime soon. So be sure to stay tuned here on our Brick Show blog site for more updates. Share us what you think about this set in the comments below.
